"Nick Pinchuk, the C.E.O., led Trump past displays of Snap-on products... including small, colorful metal boxes that Pinchuk said some customers buy to hold ashes after a cremation."

"'That’s kind of depressing,' Trump said."

Just something that amused me in a New Yorker article that isn't otherwise amusing me, "How Trump Could Get Fired/The Constitution offers two main paths for removing a President from office. How feasible are they?" I haven't read the whole article yet, but I don't have to read it at all to answer the question asked. The answer is not feasible at all (not unless something quite different from everything we've see so far happens). So you can snap that dream into a little metal box.

Ersatz news from the New Yorker.

Lefty Fantasy Land. I used to laugh at my liberal coworkers endorsement of "The West Wing", as it was essentially a fantasy show to soothe out of power leftists during the evil George Bush's usurpation of the White House during the dark years. I see now that their fantasy during the rule of the satanic Trump will now feature endless articles like this one to soother their tender senses as they wait for the next deliverer. God , are these people soft, or what?

Far more feasible is that he gets reelected in 2020.

"How Trump Could Get Fired", "Treason", "Secede", "Just Like Hitler", "Handmaid Now More Timely", etc.

Battlespace prep for an assassination attempt. It's the logical conclusion of the dead-ender Left's sore-loserism.

And Trump hasn't been in office six months. Imagine how pathetic and deranged these people are going to be in a year or two years or in four years if Trump gets re-elected. You would think they would get tired of being crazy and wallowing in it but they never seem to.

Good Lord, they lost already! When Obama was reelected I was pretty sad for the country, but I didn't go around dreaming of impeachment. There was an election and the person I supported lost. That's life.

But can you imagine the cases of the vapor that would have ensued in the offices of The New Yorker had, say, Rush speculated about means of removing BHO from office?

Zero self-awareness in the lot.

I can't believe they left out the option of finding his burnt remains in a bunker. The New Yorker is slipping.

tim maguire said...

I bet they forgot the secret third option--Fielding a better candidate and beating him at the ballot box. Democrats always forget democracy.

"Remove a President".

Normalizing assassination.

One way for Trump to get fired is to have a Dem candidate not suck, and actually campaign in Wisc & Mich.

If they could figure out a way to get Hillary to STFU, short of assassination. It's been said that the only cure for presidential ambition is embalming fluid.

Half of these idiots think that if Trump were removed they could find some judge in the Ninth District to declare Hillary president.

I agree, infeasible (I read the article and listened to the author interviewed by Terry Gross). But then again, infeasible doesn't seem to have the same meaning it used to.

All part of the grieving process for them.

Eventually they'll get to acceptance.

FIFY. Republican losing candidates insisted you make this change.

As a practical matter Trump cannot be legally removed from office. But remember, Democrats strongly believe that laws are only for the little people.

Wouldn't it be more fun to see if Hillary could be the first person convicted of a million felonies? That would keep her in the history books.

Proof positive that there is something in leftists' DNA which prevents them from processing reality and thus they live their entire lives in a state of denial..

I listened to Terry Gross's interview with the author of this piece while I was driving yesterday. The guy is living in a parallel universe, completely deluded, and apparently quite unaware of it. It's not as if he is letting Trump be the occasion for an exploration of the topics of impeachment and the 25th amendment. He really seems to think that with just a little jump to the left we would be in the land of impeachment or removal. Every sentence out of the guy's mouth was complete nonsense. After a while I reached my limit and switched from talk to music.

We are lucky that these people are so disconnected from reality. Let them have the run of the asylum.

The Lefties I know hate Hillary as much as they hate Trump. All for the sake of Peace and Love, of course.

You think they couldn't?

I would give better odds (albeit rather slim) that both Hillary and Obama would become subjects of criminal investigations than that of Trump being impeached and removed.

Another Facebook post from today from a liberal friend who hasn't defriended me repeating a meme, "Remember, if Trump is removed from office for cheating in the election, the legitimate president is Hilary, not Pence!" Totally seems to neglect that if that is the logic, then the legitimate president is really Bernie.

I also listened to the NPR Fresh Air interview with Osnos. Osnos was in an alternate reality, pretty scary really. Especially since the host did nothing but encourage his viewpoint; no challenges or debate. His approach was full of holes, innuendo, and justification for concluding Trump can or should be declared mentally unfit to hold office. This kind of promotion by NPR and the New Yorker is dangerous and irresponsible. I didn’t know NPR could be that partisan. It was like adding gasoline to the flames of the NPR rabid anti-Trump fanatics. That escalation scares me.
Three days ago NPR had a good debate on Trump foreign policy, but the few call-in public phone calls was comprised on anti-Trumpers spewing the most illogical, delusional, fearful comments. Fortunately that host just said, “Thank you” and let them go.

Could be that Snap-on's CEO was just distracting Trump as they went down that corridor so he wouldn't notice how many Snap-on Industrial Brands products are actually made, uh, elsewhere.

To call this batshit crazy does a disservice to bats.

One bit I enjoyed was this:

Years after the death of Lyndon B. Johnson, it emerged that, as the war in Vietnam intensified, he exhibited symptoms of profound paranoia, leading two of his assistants to secretly seek the advice of psychiatrists. Johnson imagined conspiracies involving the Times or the United Nations or Ă©lites whom he called “those Harvards.”

Well, they were all out to get him and a lot of others besides. That's not paranoia, that's just situational awareness.

Everything he says about President Trump's narcissism applies at least as much, probably more to ex-president Obama. Ditto the comments about no political experience and much else.

And suppose they were able to get President Trump fired. What then? Much of the claim of his homophobia is that he picked Pence who is supposed to be homophobic. So they are going to make Pence president?

I don't know if this turkey floats the idea that once President Trump is fired, a special election could be held and Loser Hilary would win. If he didn't, plenty of others have. Yeah, like we are going to get an amendment permitting that in God's lifetime.

These people are nuts. President Trump is very lucky in his choice of enemies. We dodged a huge bullet in November when we didn't elect the Clinton.

Speaking of fake news, Bob Woodward gave the most bumbling speech I've ever heard at the WHCD. One high point was when he said "Mr President, we are not fake news." Probably the most pathetic thing I've ever heard from a media person.

It reminded me of Nixon's "I am not a Crook"
